WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) today announced the completion of appointments to his Senate staff in Washington, DC. The latest hires feature strong Alabama ties and a diverse range of experiences and perspectives in the legislative and executive branches of the federal government.

Tuberville. “We’ve got a competent, professional, and experienced team that has hit the ground running to advocate for the people of Alabama in our nation’s capital. Alabamians can rest easy knowing that this group will be fighting for them every day to ensure legislation represents their interests and values.”
Emory Cox joins as Financial Services Policy Advisor, serving point on all tax, budget, and economic issues for the senator. A St. Clair County native, Cox recently served as associate director of the White House National Economic Council under the leadership of Larry Kudlow, where he worked the implementation of COVID-19 economic relief legislation and on President Trump’s effort to forgive the student loan debt of veterans disabled as a result of their military service. Cox holds a B.A., summa cum laude, from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.
Kaitlin Stoddard will be Legislative Assistant with a portfolio that includes homeland security, commerce, immigration, and government oversight. Stoddard joins from the U.S. Department of State where she led interagency efforts to improve visa and security vetting policies, streamlined citizenship and denaturalization processes, and helped facilitate the safe return of 100,000 Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic. She previously held roles in the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Senate. Stoddard is a native of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, and graduated from the University of Georgia.
Elizabeth Edmunds will serve as Financial Legislative Correspondent. A graduate of Clemson University and a South Carolina native, Edmunds joins Sen. Tuberville’s staff from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she assisted with the relocation of two agencies from D.C. to Kansas City, and worked with NASA to identify shared projects with the USDA.
Kendal Barker will serve as Homeland Security Legislative Correspondent. Barker joins from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where she facilitated interagency and Office of Management and Budget review of U.S. strategy reports. She is an Orlando, Florida native and a graduate of the University of Florida.
Emma Johnston will serve as Agriculture Legislative Correspondent. Johnston served on former U.S. Senator David Perdue’s (R-GA) staff where she focused on agriculture and environmental issues following an Agriculture Fellowship with former U.S. Rep. Doug Collins (GA-9). Johnston was born and raised in Griffin, Georgia and is a University of Georgia graduate.
Taylor Stephens will serve as Assistant to the Chief of Staff. Stephens most recently served as a Legislative Assistant for the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Legislative Affairs, following roles in the Virginia Legislature and former U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader Eric Cantor. A California native, Stephens received her Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Master’s Degree from Liberty University.
