Nominations now being accepted for 2025 “Veteran of the Month” Series
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) recognized the twelve Alabama veterans he honored during the 2024 Alabama “Veteran of the Month” series. Senator Tuberville began this series in 2023 to show his appreciation for Alabama veterans for their service to our military and Alabama’s local communities.
“Alabama is home to more than 400,000 veterans who bravely answered the call to defend our country,” said Senator Tuberville. “Even though they’re no longer in uniform, they still serve our local communities in remarkable ways. I’ve enjoyed listening to the unique ways that Alabama’s veterans are giving back to their communities. Their efforts make our state a better place to call home. I look forward to continuing to share the stories of Alabama’s heroes in the upcoming year.”

- July: Wayne Davenport of Trussville, AL
- August: Kevin Harkey of Huntsville, AL
- September: Jerry Wheat of Wetumpka, AL
- October: John Vick of Andalusia, AL
- November: Patrick Jump of Robertsdale, AL
- December: Claudia Wigglesworth of Daleville, AL
Senator Tuberville recognizes a different Alabama veteran each month for their service and contribution to their community. Constituents can nominate an Alabama veteran and submit their information to Senator Tuberville’s office for consideration in the 2025 “Veteran of the Month” series by emailing press_office@tuberville.senate.gov.
