WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) joined “Mornings with Maria” on FOX Business to discuss the Democrat wish list Continuing Resolution (CR) and his meeting with RFK Jr., President Trump’s nominee to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Senator Tuberville also discussed the need for transparency from the Biden administration about recent drone sightings.
Excerpts from Senator Tuberville’s interview can be found below, and his full interview can be watched on YouTube or Rumble.
BARTIROMO: “Congressional leaders releasing the 1,500 pages plus of the stopgap funding bill ahead of the shutdown deadline this Friday. The bill would extend government funding through mid-March, and provide roughly $110 billion in disaster relief and aid for farmers, but some Republicans are slamming the legislation, saying it’s not the clean CR that they were anticipating. They’re calling out the so-called ‘Christmas tree ornaments’ throughout this, including duty-free Haitian apparel imports. Wait a minute—duty-free Haitian apparel imports? Lithium-ion battery legislation? Moving the jurisdiction of RFK Stadium back to Washington D.C.? Senator, it feels like same-old, same-old in terms of jamming stuff in a bill and not really thinking at all about wasteful spending.”
TUBERVILLE: “Merry Christmas, American taxpayer—we’re going to buy you a new corvette. Now you can’t pay for it for 100 years, but we’re going to buy you a corvette. It’s absolutely ridiculous what we’re doing here. We should get a clean CR. Mike Johnson promised that. The two things that we really need though is we need help for American farmers because the Farm Bill’s been kicked down the road for two years. Maria, we’re going to lose 50,000 farms in the next probably six months—50,000 more and we [already] lost 150,000 in the last three or four years. And then, of course, the disaster aid for North Carolina. The Biden administration absolutely has dropped the ball on this, but to go out building stadiums in D.C.? They can’t even cut the grass in the medians up here. It’s a disaster.”
BARTIROMO: “Unbelievable. What are your thoughts about President Trump’s nominees? I know, Senator, you met with RFK Jr. yesterday. He’s President-elect Trump’s pick to lead Health and Human Services. After your meeting, you posted this on X: ‘Our meeting reaffirmed what I already knew: RFK Jr. is the right man to make sure our food is safe, bring transparency to vaccines and health care, and Make America Healthy Again.’ You also met with Kash Patel, Pete Hegseth, Linda McMahon, and others. Are you expecting to vote ‘yes’ to all of President Trump’s nominees?”
TUBERVILLE: “Yes, all of the above.
Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and is a member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP Committees.
