WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) released a video calling for an increase to President Donald Trump’s security detail. His request comes following this weekend’s assassination attempt on President Trump—the second attempt in just two months.

“You know, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this weekend, President Trump was nearly assassinated once again. I’m glad the local police and Secret Service agents took down this deranged person before he could carry out his plan. After two assassination attempts in 65 days, it is clear that the current level of Secret Service protection around President Trump is completely insufficient.”

“We’re less than two months from the election. President Trump should receive full presidential protection from the Secret Service. I am calling on President Biden and Vice President Harris to give President Trump the same presidential protection they have today. Their silence is deafening. We don’t want more tweets. We want more action. The truth is their inflammatory rhetoric, calling Trump ‘Hitler’and a ‘threat to democracy’ for the past eight years has driven these psychopaths to take action.”
